Seems silly to write an about me page on a blog shared with friends and family, but I’m working on writing for a broader audience, so humor me.
I was fortunate to grow up in two beautiful, small towns along the Columbia River, Chelan and Wenatchee, WA. Here I was cradled by the Cascade foothills into my twenties, taking for granted the natural splendor all around me and steeling away many hours alone in my room pondering adolescence away. Seeking wide open spaces and the broader opportunities they bring, I moved to Austin, TX in 2018 and found the personal growth I’d looked for in the “Don’t tread on me” mentality. With the confidence of managing to make it in the city under my belt, I’ve returned to my home state with the goal of setting forth on a new chapter.
Growing up I dreamed of travelling and writing about my experiences. Of course, life happens, and over 10 years and half a dozen jobs later this unrelenting wanderlust remains. In light of present circumstances, the respective existential threats our country and world are under, I’ve decided to indulge this urge. So here I am on a journey to satisfy my curiosity for different perspectives and strange landscapes. Driving me on this mission is the belief that new experiences force us to grow and adapt into more thoughtful, effective individuals which ultimately benefits everyone we come into contact with. Please join me as I aim to learn, grow, and get involved in solutions to the challenges we face.
